I have long felt that a farm is one of the greatest gifts one can hope to get from whatever higher power you believe in. I was fortunate to have some parental land near Chitrakoot in UP. This, many would know, is where Tulsidas ji wrote the Ram Charitra Manas (commonly called the Tulsi Ramayan).
Over the last seven - eight years, I have built a small house and a dairy here. Its about a kilometer from my native village and right next to a large clump of trees. We have two borewells in the location (one an emergency one for the dairy - combined with a hand pump - for times when the power fails, the other one is located in the house itself and has the sweetest water one can imagine).
Once I finally quit Delhi I plan to relocate to the village and do up the house with (maybe) one spare bedroom. All friends welcome anytime. Best time to visit is during the onset of winters or the fag end. Summers can be HOT.
If you want to see where the farm is, copy and paste the following code into Google Maps search box - "85MG+QM Aman, Uttar Pradesh, India".
We had a lovely large pond / small lake in the village here that I used to bathe in as a kid. You can see it in the pictures alongside and below. Sadly, its become dirty and polluted now. I have it in mind to do something about it once I go to the village for good. Maybe cleaning this out and making it into a visiting / bathing / prayer spot once again is what I will do.
